As an Artificial Intelligence (AI) developer, you’ll be responsible for developing and deploying innovative generative models for various domains, such as text, speech, image, or video. This role requires understanding business problems and designing AI models that help solve them. The AI Developer will also be responsible for optimizing AI algorithms for scalability and performance. Your work will enhance patient care, accelerate clinical trials, and boost manufacturing productivity through technology. We’re seeking candidates with an extensive background in AI development. Local candidates preferred, but not required; travel will be based on business needs.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Design and develop AI, machine learning models, and neural networks to solve specific business problems.

  • Design and implement AI Applications and integrate them between different systems to enable AI cross application use cases.

  • Work with state-of-the-art deep learning frameworks and tools, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, GPT-3, DALL-E, etc., and leverage large-scale healthcare datasets and compute resources to create novel and realistic content.

  • Design and implement effective prompts and fine-tuning strategies to guide and control the output of your generative models, and ensure that they are consistent, coherent, and relevant to the intended use cases.

  • Collaborate with developers, researchers, and product managers to understand the requirements and specifications of different generative applications and deliver high-quality solutions that meet or exceed expectations.

  • Conduct experiments, analyze results, and report on the performance and limitations of your models, as well as suggest improvements and new directions for future research and development.

  • Manage and preprocess data for machine learning model training.

  • Monitor and improve the performance of existing AI systems.

  • Keep abreast of developments in the field of AI and introduce modern technologies where applicable.

What you’ll need (required)

  • Bachelor's Degree + 8 years’ experience in IT with solid performance in a role working with cross-functional teams (within IT and/or within the business) on enterprise-level or complex/novel system implementations.

  • Proven experience as an AI Developer or similar role.

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, and R.

  • Strong data engineering skills with technologies like Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and data warehouses.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and high-quality software applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, efficient algorithms, secure coding practices).

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to design and implement AI models.

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards. Relevant industry experience (e.g., medical device, pharmaceuticals, etc.) or in highly regulated environments

  • Excellent analytical, detail-oriented, organized and information-seeking skills.

  • Experience and training in the specific technologies that will be used for development.

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of computer science fundamentals.

  • Extensive troubleshooting/debugging skills

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $115,000 to $163,000 (highly experienced).
