Edwards Lifesciences Senior Director, Marketing, Surgical in Tokyo, Japan

Responsible for leading the implementation of business strategies and initiatives and managing the assigned team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate Japan market opportunities for EW future product pipeline. Determine the right course of action to register and reimburse the new technologies in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Build and lead the implementation of a strong “go-to-market” plan in partnership with the Product marketing team. Develop business models and propose long term- strategies regarding pipeline. Develop a robust talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across the global Strategy organization.

• Lead the yearly Strategic Planning development for Japan. Prioritizes initiatives to be presented to senior leadership. Serve as an advisory to BU in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Develop, propose and discuss with Japan management team the yearly Key Operating Drivers for the region. Monitor progress of the KOD during the year.

• Lead the investigation, proposal and pilot new business development initiatives supporting growth (e.g., org development, new business model, new clinical indication, new product). including developing systems, planning, staffing, budgeting.

• Full member of Japan management team, support and execute the strategy. Serve as an advisor to the BU top management, provide strategic direction and guidance to teams. Support enterprise-level projects, initiatives and/or programs.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in in related fieldexperience in strategy, finance or marketing Required and

Demonstrated track record in people management Required

Master's Degree or equivalent in MBA strongly preferredExperience in a Healthcare or medical field experience Preferred

Additional Skills:

• Business / economical knowledge, and strong business acumen experience strongly preferred

• Proven successful project management leadership skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems

• Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

• Excellent English skill

• Recognized as an expert within field and within the organization, both within and beyond own function

• Expert understanding of related aspects of business development processes and/or systems. Ability to build new business models. Capacity to recruit and work with consulting firms.

• Demonstrated ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations

• Strict attention to detail

• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

• Represents leadership on programs or org-specific strategic initiatives within multiple areas, interfacing with other business unites, leadership team, external business partners and customers.

• Consult in program setting within multiple areas, deeper or more dedicated advisory role, interfacing with more senior management

• Conduct business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives

• Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers; interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization

• Dedicated to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs.

• Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.

• Provide leadership and direction to large cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions

• Develop relationships, leverage them to influence change

• Support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization

• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

• Adhere and work in an ethical way. Promote and protect EW values.
