How you will make an impact:

  • Manage and oversee the work in multiple areas while ensuring compliance with the EH&S procedures, local government regulations policies and programs and industry standards

  • Accountable for plant's annual EH&S performance goals, budget, training (e.g., regulatory) and communications programs

  • Manage the EH&S system to assure continuous compliance and improvement of the EH&S certifications. Serve as lead person with local authorities on all EH&S matters

  • Work with plant leadership to develop operational strategy programs (e.g., ergonomics, occupational health, accident reduction, hazardous material handling) that align with plant strategy

  • Collaborate and align with Corporate EH&S and GSC team in driving standardized EH&S programs. Partner with cross-functional groups/resources to achieve tactical execution of business objectives

  • Interact with internal and external management and senior-level stakeholders concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications

  • Plan and direct complex projects and activities with the accountability for successful completion of all deliverables

  • Lead in identifying EH&S risks, developing mitigation strategies, defining alternative solutions, and resolving issues in collaboration with cross-functional and/or matrixed teams

  • Establish process to ensure the investigation of accidents and safety violations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions in partnership with cross-functional teams

  • Perform data and statistical analysis in order to prepare and submit required EH&S reporting to management team and Corporate EH&S as well as publishing metrics at the plant

  • Manage 3rd party contractors related to the EH&S aspects initiatives, the emergency response team and nursing office; Partner closely with HR on related issues and programs (e.g., disability, wellness)

  • Drive sustainability and environmental related efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders and a value stream mindset and culture of continuous improvement based on lean and Six Sigma principles and EW Production System (EPS)

  • Other incidental duties that includes ensuring high level execution and planning for the Annual Operating Plan

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree with related EH&S experience and skill levels exceeding the requirements of the Manager

  • Demonstrated track record in operations management and experience working in a regulated industry

What else we look for:

  • Expert understanding of related industrial safety and environmental regulations and general industry OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations

  • Knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to EH&S

  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of EH&S to the business

  • Expert understanding of supply chain procedures while addressing issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to manage assigned team and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations

  • Proven successful project management leadership skills and excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal relationship, negotiation and relationship management skills with the ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment with strict attention to detail

  • Dedicated to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs.

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
